October 1 2016

Hi
Thank you for inviting me to join and start writing again.
I joined last year, completed day 1 and somehow did not manage to continue. This time, lets hope I persevere and complete writing for the next 31 days.

A lot has changed after 12 months. From my last blog in October 1, 2015, I passed the clinical skills OSCEs last November 2015 and sat the SJT exam in January 2016, I was allocated an FY1 post in April but have not heard anything until June confirming my post. The Lord is gracious and my post in QMC Nottingham was definite to start on the 28th of August 2016. Lots of planning to do, decisions to make, forms to complete and send.

My son, Brian, signed up for European Rubik's cube competition last July which was held in Prague. We saw the beautiful city. The competition was held in a sports hall called Sportovni Hala Radotin, and it was very organised. We met the world's number 1 in rubik's cube, UK & Ireland's number 1 and whole lot of famous cubers. It was a great experience especially for Brian who signed up as staff member. His average solves was not the best but he had lots of fun, met lots of wonderful people, it was great!

I resigned on the 23rd of June from the hospital I have worked for for 13 years. On my last day, the advise from two of the consultants was something I will not forget, everybody seem to be supportive. It was time to move on to bigger and better things.

I had another exam, the PSA exam on the 22nd of July in Nottingham, and during this time I took the opportunity to look for places to rent near the hospital. I saw one and I applied for it.

I had days to spend with Brian before moving to Nottingham, it was days spent telling him important life advise, what to do in case of emergencies, looking after the puppies, cleaning the house, making sure his uniform was washed regularly at the end of each week, make sure his dad has arranged school run arrangements, makes sure his dad was aware of school meetings and events, to eat and drink well, prioritise school work, try and sleep early, read devotions, church on Sundays and pray, pray, pray.

This was crucial time for both of us, him doing his GCSEs and I had to do my training. I miss him a lot, but this is an opportunity for his dad to look after him and create meaningful relationship together.

What I have learned the past 2 months
I can survive living far away from Brian and that I need to cover him with more prayers than ever before.
I have learned that he can survive without his mother and he seem to be doing better than I imagined.

I have learned that I can drive the motor ways and be able to drive hours on end to go home, spend time with Brian and the puppies and then drive back again.

I have learned that there will always be not-so-good people at work but we just have to step back, take a deep breath and deal with it. I tend to linger a little about it in my head, makes me so frustrated and then realise what is the point? It does not make me a better person and I have accomplished nothing. At the same time, there are good people at work and I think they are amazing.

I have lost weight which I thought I would never be able to do.

I have downloaded more kindle books than before and learned that I am fascinated by NDEs - having said that, my sister said, it's time to read the real book first before reading any other books, so now I am reading Exodus and relearning the story of Moses.

I have learned that the Lord puts us where He wants us to be and provides us with everything we need. Jesus reroutes every wrong way and moves us to the safest place - the centre of His will (g.smith)
Thank you Jesus!
