2 October 2016

Hi

Today I woke up and planned to go to church at 11.15 am, but I had terrible rhinitis and postponed church for this evening. I didn't ring brian today, he was not happy with me over the phone yesterday evening, I kept reminding him to prioritise, not to bring his laptop, get his clothes ready and cube bag ready and do homework & revision. So I said to myself, he doesn't need reminding today, that might annoy him further - he just needs prayers. I keep praying for his protection,  for him to put God first, for the Holy Spirit to guide him in his priorities and for him to have fun, and praying he is ready for Monday.

I also planned to go to IKEA but while looking at the directions, looking at how long it takes to drive, there was a feedback at the bottom of the website which said: Top tip-never go on Sundays and Bank holidays. I didn't go in the end.

Spoke to my twin sister on the phone and then went to church in the evening.
It's my third time attending Sunday service in this church, everybody appears lovely and majority of the group are young adults and students. There were a couple of young boys on my right who sang really well, I got the sense that they loved church but were sometimes easily distracted - reminded me of Brian -made me smile.

What I have learned today is the importance of going to church.
The more we find excuses not to go to church, the more we HAVE to go to church.
The message was very important, it was the message of salvation. Salvation is what we need. 'Understanding the free gift of heaven offered through Jesus Christ. The more we know about it,  the more we should anticipate and live for it' (d.piper 2015).
